The story rug is a wonderful place to invite children to

Story Wall:
Just like a word wall children should be exposed to a STORY
WALL. Using Velcro loop material (available on the resource page)
pictures and words can be added to the STORY WALL so the children
can recognize character names, words from the story that match
pictures and view the front cover of the book.
Make a colored copy of the front jacket of your favorite book.
Laminate the cover and add a piece of Hook Velcro to the back. Put
the book cover on your story wall and then add other words,
characters, pictures etc. and encourage the children to retell the
story.
This is a great on going year round activity that can be changed
as you introduce new literature to the children.
